The Best Pumpkin Patches Around Denver

Autumn is, without a doubt, my favorite season in Colorado. I love everything about it — fall color drives in the mountains, boots and sweaters, pumpkin spice everything. I’m that girl.

One of the best ways to feel fallish is to head out to a pumpkin patch with the kids. They have a blast running around, checking out pumpkins (our favorites are always the weird, lumpy ones. We’re not round, perfect pumpkin people.) And bonus points if there’s cider, or a corn maze, or a few animals milling around, too. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Pumpkin Patches Around Denver:

Anderson Farms — Home to Colorado’s longest running corn maze and pumpkin patch. Visitors can also do gem mining and gourd launching, feed farm animals, and make s’mores next to the giant fire pit if you’re there after 7pm. Located in Erie.

Berry Patch Farms — Hayrides, pumpkins, straw maze, and farm market. This year they’re offering “a more simplified but authentic fall farm experience.” Check their website for details. Brighton.

Chatfield Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Festival — Oct. 7-9. Event includes live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and of course the Chatfield corn maze. Other events continue throughout the month, including the Great Pumpkin Haul — an obstacle course you complete…with your pumpkin.

Cottonwood Farms — A pumpkin patch (they’ll even loan you a little red wagon for easier transport), corn maze and straw bale maze for younger kids. Also hayrides, and farm animals to visit. East of Boulder on Arapahoe Rd.

Littleton Museum and Farm — Oct. 8 is the museum’s annual Harvest Festival, with hayrides and a pumpkin patch. Check with the museum to see when the patch is open the rest of the season.

Mile High Farms — Two corn mazes for different ages, hay rides, a bouncy castle, and farm animals to visit. Bennett.

Rock Creek Farm — Pick your own pumpkins, try the corn maze, visit farm animals, and check out  the family fun area. Broomfield.

Have fun and happy punkin pickin’ everyone!
