Mint.com

DH and I were looking for a way to track expenses, budget and just get a better grip on where our money is going. Our financial advisor gave us a list of different sites/software to help with household budgeting and Mint.com was on that list. I just signed up, am still feeling around the site, but wanted to share the info with all of you as well. If you use or have reviewed mint.com already, let me know how you like it!

Rubik’s Slide Available on QVC

ColoradoMoms | July 23, 2010 | Comments (1)
Rubik’s Slide Available on QVC

The Rubik’s Slide is a HOT new toy this summer! It’s debuting on QVC tomorrow for purchase as part of QVC’s Christmas in July Sale this Saturday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. ET and Sunday, July 25th at 12:00 a.m. ET for just $17.64. It will also be available through QVC.com. You should get this before it sells out! I’m pretty sure this is going to be a MUST have for Christmas this year.

Rubik’s Slide combines the simplicity and fun of casual games with fast-paced, brain-busting cubing. Players begin each puzzle by checking the goal pattern and then sliding the lights into the correct pattern by twisting and shifting the top panel. (Much like the slide or “fifteen” puzzles from years ago). Featuring more than 10,000 puzzles, Rubik’s Slide includes two different types of play. Players can see how many puzzles they can solve in Free Play mode or race against the clock to complete a series of 10 puzzles before time runs out in Lightning Round. Rubik’s Slide includes multiple levels of difficulty with easy, medium and hard puzzles built-in, so anyone can join in on the fun. Appropriate for ages 8 and up.

Pueblo families have three unique opportunities tomorrow and Thursday to receive free health screenings as part of a nationwide diabetes screening tour in Health Mart pharmacies, the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour. Leave it to the moms at twittermoms.com to have the best ideas! http://www.twittermoms.com/forum/topics/share-5-fun-family-vacation So many of the moms on here have amazing ideas for family fun vacations! Being a mom of 3 boys, we are always on the go. The following are some of my vacation ideas, for the moms in Colorado!

1. Glenwood Springs – seriously, if you have kids and haven’t gone yet, you NEED to! The Caverns are soooo much fun! Hotel Colorado is haunted (I totally know it is, I heard and experienced the same things as the ghost hunters!!!). The Hot Springs may smell like your husbands feet, but are so warm and nice and Maroon Bells/Aspen is a short 30 minute jaunt! That means Celebs and Shopping!

Champions Science Adventures

ColoradoMoms | May 12, 2010 | Comments (1)

Do you have a 1st – 6th grader? One that loves science as much as my kid? Wondering what to do with them this summer? I just found out about Champions Science Adventures. Champions Science Adventures camps are designed to inspire curiosity about how the world works while instilling a love of learning about science through interactive, hands-on experiments and activities. WOW! This is perfect for Tbone! He loves Rockets, Space, Animals, Robots and all of the sessions they have there. There are a ton of locations nationwide to chose from. Lucky for us, there is one only 20 min from our area. I’m signing T up for the Gizmo’s Robot Factory. He is going to LOVE this! I will love it because he won’t be bored all summer with something like this to look forward to between our vacations. The best part?! I won a free week of half day camp!

Champions Science Adventures summer day camps focus on FUN and take science education beyond the classroom to spark a child’s interest in the world of science through exploration and discovery. This year’s four camps are Mystery of the Pharaoh’s Treasure, Go Wild, Gizmo’s Robot Factory and Space and Rocketry. I have a great promo code for you as well! Think the camps are too expensive? You can save $50 on a Champions Science Adventure summer day camp with the following code: summerscience10. :) Visit www.scienceadventures.com for more information!

My Most Triumphant Outlet Shopping Story

My Most Triumphant Outlet Shopping Story

The Place? The outlets in Connecticut near Mystic, CT. The time of day? Noon. The Store? My beloved Michael Kors. Oh how I love thee!

I was visiting my BFF at her beach house and we decided to shop, natch! ;) I was torn, right across the way was Miss Kate Spade but Michael was calling my name. I go in, I see the most beautiful Bronze Austin bag, but it was $400 and my hubby would not be pleased. I still coveted it, pet it, wispered sweet nothings in its ear, then saw the tag, it was marked down! But only to $350. Booo! Well then the sales lady came over (probably wondering why this crazy redhead was practically making out with a purse!) and told me it was marked down that same day and they hadn’t updated the tag. Sucess! Even if it’s $300, I’ll just seduce the hubby later and all will be fine. ;) I didn’t even ask what the price was, told her to ring it up!

Don’t Panic, It’s Organic!

That line cracked me up. Love it! I found this amazing company on twitter and facebook. Tadpoles Bedding. They have this Organic line that is soooo cute! They sent me the organic baby gift set to try out. Let me just say that Chewy was in love more than I was! The quality of the products is way above what I was expecting. Soooo soft, absorbant, and looks so chic without being over the top. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

I was born a Hippie. No really, I was born on a commune full of free love and Grateful Dead. No joke! My Pops even had both a VW bug (actually 2 of them!) and a VW bus that inevitably broke down sat in our driveway in Northern California (near Humbolt county if that helps you paint your picture ;) ) and became a lawn ornament. My Pops was a bonafide, dope smoking, macrame doing, long haired hippie. After he and my mom split up (because she grew up and decided to put her hippie days behind her) my Pops toured with the Grateful Dead, he even had an air show in Tucson called “Dead Air”. Seriously! See, so now you believe me, true hippie blood running through these veins.

MyJobChart.com – Chore Charts Made Easy!

ColoradoMoms | April 16, 2010 | Comments (1)

How many times have you made, remade and remade again, chore charts for your kids? Printing them and putting on the fridge, using a dry erase board, job/joy jars? If you are me, it’s PLENTY! We’ve done about every type of chore chart you can imagine and abandoned them all. I was sent an email to try MyJobChart.com an online chore chart! I signed up and the process was super quick and easy. You can upload a pic of yourself or your kids! You sign up the kids under the parent account and start assigning chores. They have a list of pre-determined chores or you can create your own. Each job you chose can be daily, weekly, once a month, one day only, whatever you need. Then they have points based on the chores that the kids can earn (you can raise or lower those as well). You can customize this in ways you never could with other chore charts, yet it’s ridiculously easy and quick to set up! You enter a reward (again you can choose from a list or create your own) and assign points. You or the kids can check off when they complete the chores and it will track their rewards for you! You can even put in your own icons for the chores and rewards.
