Are you on there? Do you love it?! Do you need an invite? I’m a tad obsessed! Here is my profile if you want to follow. http://pinterest.com/coloradomoms/ I have a couple of funny ones, well funny to me anyway. Like my “Amen” Board where I post things like, well, you just have to see them to understand. http://pinterest.com/coloradomoms/amen/ And my Paint Chips board. OH. EM. GEE. Who knew so many people were cruising Home Depot in the hopes to score massive amounts of free paint chips and then make crap out of them! You gotta read the captions under the pins. Scroll to...
I don’t know what it is about New Year’s Eve that gets my kids so excited. Maybe it’s the fact they get to stay up past midnight, or invite a friend over to spend the night? Maybe it is partly due to the massive amount of fireworks our neighborhood seems to store all year until 12am on 1/1 to decide to set off (it seriously sounds like Armageddon around here!). Could be the joy that the school year is half over. I think it also might be the fact I let them make a total mess of the place with some fun...
Cheating and using words yet again. I should just call this “picture with a bunch of words wednesday!”. Anywho, I bought these candy maker treat thingy’s from Michael’s a couple weeks ago and the boys helped me make treats for all their teachers before they went on winter break. Love these! We paid around $7.50 for a kit that made 5 treats. It came with everything, the candy, the bags, the tags and the cookie cutters. What a great idea! You can do this on your own without the kit as well. I think I’ll have to make some for...
I’ve been knitting for a while now. I like to knit things that provide instant gratification, so blankets and long scarves are out. Mostly I knit toys for my kids and some just because I felt like knitting Godzilla & Mothra. I normally hang out on Ravelry to search patterns and get ideas, then I found out about Craftsy.com. They are here in Denver, so I love them even more!...
One of the things that I am trying to do is find creative fun ways to reuse or “upcycle” things around my home. I hate to throw things away and I would rather find a creative way to reuse something or make it into something brand new. So today I decided I was going to try to make t-shirt yarn out of a shirt I was just going to toss in the trash....
This post is by Kat, a long time friend who enjoys crafts. She wanted to share some halloween craft projects she’s been working on with all of you. Enjoy! I am on a mission this year to make as many Halloween decorations as I can. I am holding my first Halloween party and trying to decorate everything for as cheap as possible. So here is where online research and creativity come into play. I ended up on Martha Stewarts website, and wow I never knew what I was missing! Crepe Paper Curtains My first project I wanted to attempt was...
The iPhoodie. Hoodie for your iPhone. It’s getting to be fall so don’t you think your iPhone deserves to be cozy? (If this looks familiar to you die hard knitters… I have had the pattern on Ravelry for a while now. My username is ”Coffeebra” on there. Long story. ) I’ve had this pattern on Ravelry for almost 2 years. It’s received 1800+ “likes” on my own personal knit version and over 300 knitters have created their own iphoodie from my pattern. Now, I want to share it with all of you! You don’t have to be a master knitter...
I try not to touch on politics or things that might be too controversial on this site. Republican, Democrat, Vax, No Vax, Pro Choice, Pro Life, all those topics won’t be shared here. I respect everyone’s view and opinion and love when people share with me their reasonings behind their argument. That all said, in light of recent events going on in the world around us, I do have one brazen statement to make. Godzilla would have gotten this done way faster. No lie. I mean he’s a mutant lizard for goodness sakes! He terrorized New York City and they...
I’ve had a few projects going that I set aside for one reason or another. Yesterday I decided to tackle finishing them before I started on my new chunky hat pattern design. I got quite a bit done! Sheldon, a knitty.com free pattern, was first on my list to finish. I had only started him a week or 2 ago, but was anxious to get him done. Our tortoise HotRod needed a friend! I got lots of pictures of Sheldon, er, HotRod part Deux. HotRod wasn’t too sure about this guy though. He loved up to him, then hissed. I...
