Going through all of my knitting patterns, cleaning them up, dusting them off and sharing them with you all for free! 🙂 I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Hey, if you are on Ravelry, look me up! I’m ColoradoMoms over there.

Skater Baby

This is one of my most popular knitting patterns, tied with the iPhone Sweater. I love going into ravelry and seeing all of the hats people make using this pattern. If you make one, please link me in the comments below! I’d love to see! (Click HERE or the image below for the free .pdf)

I put this pattern in my favorites file on ravelry because your picture is so darned cute! I may try to make an adult version for myself, but know I’ll not look nearly so good (not having an adorable chubby cheek little boy face!)
    Thanks for sharing your pattern.

    Hi Becky,
Thank you for sharing your pattern, it is really cute. I decided to knit this for a friend but I don’t understand how the casing is made. Your instructions are insert left needle into cast on stitch then insert left needle into stitch on the new row. I’m missing something, help please!

I can’t seem to download the pattern either Becky, it just says ie stopped working and shuts down everything. I got this pattern from Craftsy and I got an email, saying that an updated version was available and to download it.

How funny. I came to your blog to download this hat pattern and then I find the I phone sweater that I made my daughter a while ago. Apparently I love your designs! Keep it up.

  8. Hi, I have cast on 72 stitches per pattern on a size 7 16″ circular needle and this appears to be way too long. Can you let me know if the pattern has been updated? I can’t join as there is too much space between the stitches.

Thank you so much. Looking forward to making this for my first grandbaby.

    Take care,
    Kathy Sitter

do you have more pictures of when you create the brim? I’ve never done one before and I’m not sure which way to fold the yarn, inside the round or outside and which stitches you grab from the CO…sorry new to knitting and not sure what to do.
    Thanks!

This is one of the cutest hats I have ever seen. One question: what do you mean when you write ” after decrease you have 1/17/08?”. I haven’t made hats; however I really want to try my hands with this pattern. Also would you have this in an adult version? I can figure out the casts ons but, not sure about the decreases.

    Thank you.

Sorry! The formatting on the blog changed the count to a date. I’ll go in and fix. Also, for an adult hat, keep adding in increments of 8 stitches or uses heavier weight yarn or larger needles. I made this in vanna’s choice solids for an adult on 7’s with a cast on of 88 stitches.

I can’t wait to start on this hat! I am making two for a friend’s twins, one in green and beige and the other in beige and green. The pattern does not specify how much yarn is needed for each hat. Can it be completed with one skein of the dominant color?

    Thanks!

I love the skater baby brim hat, it is soooo cute on him and he is such a cutie pie! I am going to attempt to make it for my son, he is 8. His brother (age 4) may want one also, he loves to mimic his big brother. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I will let you know how it turns out. School is starting and they are constantly losing or misplacing their hats and gloves at school, so it helps to make a few.

    Thanks again! :))
