Your Guide to Easter Activities Around Denver

I love this season! The colored eggs, the frilly dresses, the bonnets (tell me I’m not the only one who wishes she could still pull off a beruffled bonnet with a giant satin bow around my chin) There are quite a few fun events going on around Denver so that kids and parents can get into the Easter spirit…and hang out with a giant bunny at the same time — he’s got a busy week!

The Bunny Bolt — Denver, beginning at 10am April 15. A 1K Rabbit Rush for kids, a massive Easter Egg hunt, face painting, and a balloon artist. And for adults — a chance to find golden eggs along the racecourse that could contain prizes from Elitches, Starbucks, Snooze, and more.

Dinos Egg Scavenger Hunt — Denver Zoo, beginning at 12n April 16. To get ready for the upcoming DINOS! Live exhibit, kids can pretend to be paleontologists and hunt for super-sized eggs throughout the zoo. They’ll follow clues and get hints about who will hatch on that site on July 1.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny — Downtown Aquarium, Denver, times vary, April 15-16. Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny, or enjoy an Easter buffet with an egg hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny. Reservations required.
Bunny Trail — Denver Children’s Museum, beginning at 10a April 15. Kids can wander the Bunny Trail and find springtime art projects, music, face painting, treats, and a visit with Truffles the Big Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and other special characters.
The Hippity Hop Easter Trot — Stapleton, beginning at 8am April 15. Choose from a 5k, 10k, half marathon, or the Kid’s Cottontail Fun Run, which is about 1/4 mile long. There’s also an old fashioned sack race for people of all ages, music, food and drinks, and kids’ activities.
Bunny Express Train — Colorado Railroad Museum, Golden, 10a-4p April 15. Experience what it was like to travel 100 years ago and check out the vintage 1880s passenger coach. The Easter Bunny and Spike the Railroad Hound will hand out candy as well.
Eggstravaganza — Civic Center Park, Highlands Ranch, beginning at 11a April 15. Carnival games, egg hunts, and giveaways!
Mile High Flea Market Egg Hunt — Henderson, beginning at 9a April 15. Kids can hunt for candy throughout the market, get a free ride ticket, and get a raffle ticket for a chance at a prize after the hunt.
