Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

Have you been to Glenwood Caverns recently? Or at all? We took a family road trip through the mountains last summer and ended up spending an entire day at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The kids had a blast! They have the Alpine Coaster, the historical and magical Caverns, Bungee Trampoline, Canyon Swing, Bull riding and MORE! Below are pics we took on our trip and the descriptions from the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park website!

The kids LOVED the Alpine Coaster. I think Cartman must have gone down this at least a dozen times! Tbone loved the bull rides. He was laughing so hard as he was thrown about and ultimately fell off. Chewy just loved watching the people on the Canyon Swing. He giggled every time they would go out over the canyon! And finally, we ALL loved the caverns. The coolest thing! (as in to see and it was COLD in there!)

ABOUT THE PARK

Located in scenic Glenwood Springs, Colo., midway between Aspen and Vail, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is family friendly vacation destination. The Adventure Park features a gondola ride, guided tours of Glenwood Caverns and Historic Fairy Caves, dining, and attractions including an alpine coaster, 4-dimensional theater, giant swing, laser tag, a climbing wall, gemstone sluice box mining and bungee trampolines.

BACKGROUND

Glenwood Caverns originally opened to the public as the Fairy Caves in 1895, but closed at the onset of World War I. The caves were closed for 82 years until owners Steve and Jeanne Beckley reopened the caverns in 1999. The Beckleys have employed rigorous, contemporary, scientific preservation methods to protect the living and historic sections of the caves. Glenwood Caverns was named one of The 10 Great Places to Go Underground by USA Today, as well as being named Best Family Cave Tour by Denver Westword. Over the years, the Adventure Park has grown to include a wide range of activities and attractions.
