To some, driving can be a terribly stressful experience but ever since I was old enough to start driving on my own, I’ve used my drive time as a way to decompress and actually relieve stress. I turn the music on, roll the windows down and just enjoy going from one place to another with the music to soothe me and the duration of the trip to find peace. With three kids, it seems like I’m always on the go, so, we spend a lot of time in the car and it’s something we can all enjoy together. The kids keep themselves busy with chatter, books, movies, etc. while I focus on the road ahead and use the time to gather my thoughts.
While I’ve enjoyed having our family car over the last few years, I do enjoy browsing the different options available from year to year. It’s fun to see the years new releases and the many improvements each car company makes to their latest models. As a blogger who is able to partner with companies to review some of the latest and greatest products, I’ve been able to partner with some great car companies in the past. I was most recently able to review the 2016 Mazda CX-5 and take it for a test drive over the course of several days.
The 2016 Mazda CX-5 is available in 8 different colors, each one more alluring than the last. Between the bold colors and its modern design, the Mazda is a stylish vehicle that can appeal to most consumers, especially if they’re a family starting out or if they seem to find themselves with a full car on a regular basis (like me!) It’s capable of seating up to 5 passengers comfortably, so, there’s room for your little ones as well as an extra tag along or two. The passenger seating space combined with the impressive cargo space, ensures that the Mazda CX-5 can get you and your family/friends where you need to go as well as have enough room for your gear, luggage, groceries, etc.
With my constant errands and a host of extra-curricular activities, it’s safe to say that I’m in the car a lot and that my family and I cover a lot of ground from week to week. Gas prices aren’t crazy like they’ve been in the past but they have been on the rise, making the 33mpg gas mileage of the CX-5 a feature that I’ve really been able to take advantage of while we had it.
Now that I’ve touched on a few of the features that potential car buyers tend to look at first (space, gas mileage, etc.) it’s time to go into a few of the other included specifications that I’ve been able to enjoy during our time testing out the CX-5.
- Refined cockpit that boasts a welcoming, intuitive, and sophisticated overall look and feel.
- l-Activ AWD for better traction and a more confident driving experience.
- Kodo “Soul of Motion” which embodies the dynamic beauty of life.
- Bigger interior than both, the KIA Sportage and Hyundai Tucson.
- l-ActiveSense technology that uses cameras and radar to give you better safety measures.
- SkyActiv Technology, a unique engineering approach that doesn’t sacrifice performance for fuel efficiency.
Tax returns are rolling in for some families and with the new year in full swing, there are birthdays and special occasions looming. If you’re looking for a worthy investment for the money you’ll be getting back this year or the ideal car for a new driver, then I would highly recommend the Mazda CX-5. It’s definitely not your average “mom mobile” and has some wonderful features that make it a solid option for anyone weighing their options for a new vehicle.
