We have been long time fans of LeapFrog products. For the past 15+ years my boys have been playing with them. We’ve had every handheld and tablet they’ve made and still have the original Leapster! To say we are fans is an understatement.
My youngest son is 7 and autistic and he has been using the LeapPad as a learning tool for a while. In playing some of the games he’s been able to transfer his fine motor skills of tracing letters on a game, to writing them on paper. Watching this transformation has been amazing.
We recently received a LeapPad Platinum to review and were thrilled with it, once again proving that LeapFrog makes a great product for all kids, including those with specials needs and autism.
Brady really responded to the size of the LeapPad Platinum. It’s not too big, the screen size is perfect and the images are crisp. The games load quickly and he can even still watch some of his favorite shows, like Max and Ruby, on it as well. Perfect for when we have longer car rides. He can just watch a show and not get too upset if the trip is taking a bit longer than he expected.
I love how the LeapPad Platinum is smaller than his other tablets and devices, so it can fit right in my purse when we are out and about. He also has finally learned to love wearing headphones so he can listen closely to the instructions on the game without getting frustrated because of outside noise.
The LeapPad Platinum is everything we could have hoped for in an upgrade from previous versions. We will continue to be big fans of everything LeapFrog!
