I’m a huge fan of pizza. Over the years my tastes have gotten a bit more sofistimacated. Going from a plain cheese from a large chain, to a local greasy joint’s specialty pizza to now, my new love… Organic Pizza Company’s “Fisherman” pizza. Vodka Sauce, organic cheese, shrimp, fresh basil and more. (Really, they had me at Vodka Sauce.) The best part? Since it’s Organic and all fresh ingredients, hand made right there in front of me, I don’t feel so bad when I can plow through a pizza all on my own.

Organic Pizza Company has 2 locations currently (Highlands and now the Spire building in Downtown Denver) and has plans for more along the front range! I’m hoping for a location up north, Boulder, Lafayette, Westminster, something! Friday, March 11th they are having their Grand Opening in the Spire Building (14th & Champa right across the street from the Convention Center!). I was lucky enough to get to go to a tasting this past weekend. I was in Pizza Heaven! They had 13 different flavors for us to try and each one was amazing! So hard to choose a favorite when they are all amazing! I brought some home to the husband and he loved the Fisherman, Carnivore and Jamaican! (For a full menu click here)

Eco-Consciousness
Organic Pizza Company is committed to sustainable business practices, which means using less packaging, conserving resources, partnering with environmentally conscious vendors, recycling and more. Dry products used in-house, including plates, bowls, knives and forks, are all made from corn or sugar cane, provided by Boulder-based Eco-Products. Parchment paper, on which take-and-bake pizzas are cooked, is recyclable and biodegradable. Additionally, both locations were constructed to LEED certification guidelines. Even Organic Pizza Company polo shirts, staff uniforms, are made with 100 percent organic cotton.

Charitable Giving
Staying true to its tagline, “Taste the Difference. Make a Difference,” Organic Pizza Company is a proud partner of Metro CareRing, a Denver-based nonprofit organization committed to assisting people through times of crisis, and advocating for solutions to hunger and poverty. Each week, Organic Pizza Company will donate all excess fresh produce to Metro CareRing, and 10 percent of proceeds from every “The Metro CareRing” signature pizza purchased by consumers will be donated to the charity. Additionally, customers who participate in Organic Pizza Company’s loyalty program, in which each customer gets every 11th pizza free, will have the option to forgo the free pizza, and instead allow Organic Pizza Company to donate its net cost to Metro CareRing on the customer’s behalf.
