Random Acts of Zhu

Cepia, LLC started the Random Acts of Zhu last year to be able to bring a smile on kids faces that might not get to play with these cute and fuzzy toys otherwise. As part of the program this year, they got a bunch of bloggers together to decide where the hamsters were going. We at ColoradoMoms.com were chosen to help and given 100+ zhu zhu pets to the charity of our choice.

Knitschmidt said to me “Tennyson Center. Hands down, donate to them!”. Her husband has worked with them in the past and they are big supporters of the charity. I called the center and asked if they could use 100 furry pets? They not only said “YES!” but also told me that every year they put together little gifts for all the kids for their Holiday party. The Zhu Zhu’s would be perfect for that! They also have Operation Santa where people can donate toys, money, giftcards and more to the center to make the kids holiday a bit brighter.

We packed up all the ZhuZhu pets and headed on our way!

Chewy was showing the gals how they worked by trying to set off every one of them as we put them under the tree.

My boys felt so proud as they left, knowing that the kids would have a great and zhu-rrific holiday!

About the Tennyson Center –

Tennyson Center for Children:
It’s about the kids.

Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home has grown to become one of the Rocky Mountain region’s leading treatment centers and K-12 schools for emotionally and crisis-affected children and youth, particularly those suffering from abuse and neglect. We serve children ranging in age from 5-18 and we are dedicated to ensuring that these amazing kids having the fighting chance they deserve at a satisfying and fulfilling life.

Our treatment programs are extensive and are as varied as the wonderful children and families served by Tennyson Center. We provide competent and caring treatment, educational and advocacy services in an environment that is child-centered, family-focused and community-based.
