When you are a mom, working from home, you can often slip into the “yoga pants and an old concert tshirt” fall back ensemble. I’m super guilty of putting on the workout gear with zero intentions of actually do anything more than a Starbucks run. This is why I love working with clothing companies that not only have comfortable clothes to actually work out in, but also have that “mom casual chic” look as well. Enter prAna. They graciously gifted me a couple of pieces from their current line to try out and share my thoughts.
I did a post last year showing off their eco friendly and sustainable hemp clothing. This time I was offered a wide variety of spring and summer options from dresses and tunics to shorts and yoga pants to dresses and everything in between. I had such a hard time choosing the perfect pieces. I already own many prAna dresses because they are so comfortable. Especially when we travel frequently in the summer. Very soon I’m heading on another travel adventure with my boys. We’ll be cruising again and visiting various warm Caribbean climates so I feel like I made an amazing choice for my outfit. I chose the “Tess” shorts and “Petra” top.
When the shorts arrived I thought, “there is no way that these are the right size and/or will fit my bum” and cautiously tried to slip them on. I was nervous. I’m not going to lie, a bead of sweat was forming on my forehead as I slid them up… but they fit! Perfectly in fact. I have a hard time with shorts being able to contain all of the junk in my trunk after birthing 3 children, so ones with short inseams are out, and I’ve started to lean towards athletic shorts because they are cut for an ample booty. These Tess shorts blend the fit of athletic style shorts with a sophisticated look.
The top I ordered in a medium as, along with that ample bottom, my curves are also up top. I loved how the shirt was flowy and a bit baggy, but I should have ordered a small as it’s just a bit too baggy. The top is fun and casual while still looking “put together.”
I’m so excited to get to the warm beach (as it snowed here in Denver just a few days ago!! In late MAY!) and will be sharing this look on our instagram page. You can follow along in a couple weeks to see where in the world this prAna look will show up!
