Type-A Parent is a resource for parents, bloggers, social media peeps and more. It’s filled with information and news and they are hosting their 7th annual social media/blogging professional conference in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I go there to learn, sometimes to speak and always to network. I’ve made some of the best friends and work connections through this conference alone. Yes, there are many to chose from, but this is by far my favorite.
Okay, enough of all that gushing. What you really are asking me is, “Emily! OMG, so like, what are you going to WEAR?”
Some people go casual, some professional, most a mix of the 2. Really, there is no dress code and it’s a super laid back conference so everyone can just wear what they want. Sweats and a t-shirt, totes fine. Prom Dress? Yup, I’ve been known to rock that. Yoga pants with an Ed Sheeran t-shirt, that too. Olivia Pope style dress with stilettos. Sure! Ripped jeans and a fake cashmere sweater from Target… already in my suitcase.
The parties are where I like to spice it up though. In my day to day life I’m in one of two outfits. Yoga pants and a sports shirt or ripped jeans and a concert tee. So when I go to conferences I doll it up like never before. There are a few networking events in the evenings and most have themes. If they don’t, I make up my own theme and rock it out.
Haunted Mansion Disneybound
Disney has hosted parties in the past at Type-A Parent and they are nothing short of amazing. I’m a huge Disneybounding fan so I put together this little number to wear.
Vivienne Westwood Because Duh
Bevy is hosting an event during the conference as well and I’ve been dying to bust out these adorable Vivienne Westwood glitter pants again. No matter the theme to this event, this is the outfit I’ll be in. Because… Vivienne. Westwood. Glitter. Jeans.
Decades – That’s 70’s Outfit
The closing party has a decades themes. Pick your favorite decade and rock it out. I was thinking way too hard about this outfit and then remembered I have this adorable knock off Pucci dress that reminds me of the 70’s. Add some go-go boots and done.
So there you go. You no longer have to stress about what I will be wearing. You’re Welcome. 😉
