We drove by the Southwest ER tonight and for some reason I thought about this when I saw the helipad, and someone here (Melanie??) has to know the answer...

Where do flight for life helicopters "live" when they're not in service?

DH said "somewhere other than where we are." and argued that that was a good answer. :giggle

Ooh ooh guess what?!? My dh works on flight for life helicopters so I know this answer...I think. They live at hospitals mostly. They are actually building a hangar at sky ridge right now for theirs. When they need to be serviced, they are at centennial airport. My husbands company is air methods. They work on all of them in the state and the majority in the nation.

Thanks! The funny thing is, it never occurred to me before! Littleton's helipad is right between the postpartum wing and my OB's office and 3 of my 4 babies, I had a room overlooking the helipad, and Brody liked to look at it at all of my appointments. he even got to see one taking off when we went for my 6 week checkup. But I never really thought about where the helicopters come from. :teee
