So I can look up in it....How do you punish your child for poking a boy at school with a pencil who called her a name?
I'm at a loss...some things I just find myself having no idea how to punish appropriately for...She's 11...
WWYD?
Hmmm... probably the good old two wrongs don't make a right? He was wrong to call her a name, but that doesn't make it okay to poke him with a pencil. But personally, if there was no real injury I'd probably go with a lecture this time and a harsher punishment if it happens again. But I can lean toward being a softie at times. She's old enough to understand, though.

I would probably lecture too. I am trying to get Conor to stand up for himself, and it's tough. Especially when Logan does something to him and Conor retaliates the wrong way. I wish there was a manual too!

Was she punished at school? Personally, I wouldn't punish her per say but tell her why it's wrong to poke someone with a pencil. Like the others said, two wrongs don't make a right BUT good for her for standing up for herself. Why are kids so mean?

I would probably give her a talk about how that boy was wrong but she should ignore him, or if it gets worse, tell a teacher. I wouldn't go too hard on her just because the kid was being an ass, but violence isn't okay either.
