Ok ladies, I'm a totally paranoid pregnant lady right now so I need some rational advice.

A few months ago we had a biiiig mouse problem. :gonnagetit (we have hopefully fully taken care of the problem now that we have an exterminator coming in a lot) But I found mouse poop :poop in my couch cushion which totally sent this preggy lady over the edge. I mean EW!

So anyway, this couch is cheap and falling apart so we are getting rid of it in 3 months when we move regardless of what we do with it right now. But I'm debating throwing it out now (which seems rational to my poop disgusted paranoia, yet wasteful) and then putting a little love seat from our office in the living room OR cleaning it and put a cover on it.

Am I totally being irrational to not want anything to do with it? I've read you can't really clean mouse poop out of cloth because where they poop they pee. And the couch is falling apart and isn't that comfortable now... What would you do?

I honestly have no idea what I would do...I know I'd be grossed out but I don't know! Would you miss it if it were gone 3 months early? I'd at the very least spray it good with white vinegar. Lots and lots of vinegar. :hugg :hugg

I sprayed it with vinegar till my family was grossed out LOL But I think what creeped me out the most was when the Orkin dude said there could be a nest in there :P

I'd toss it. But I'm not one for rational decisions. ;)

If you have a love seat that you can use and you were planning on getting rid of it anyways I would do it early. We did it at a place we were at once, and hey thats what the floor and pillows are for sometimes...:giggle But I would be totally grossed out, and paranoid.

I vote toss the couch early. I'm not sure I'd sit on the couch anymore anyway. So, may as well get it out of the house.

Just get rid of it. I'd sit on the floor, or use folding chairs for 3 months if necessary.

If you were getting rid of it anyway, I would totally toss it. Although I am currently sitting on a couch that a mouse pooped on. I swore I would NEVER sit on it again, yet here I sit. I freaking hate mice. I'm sorry :hugg

I would toss it and get the kids beanbags for Christmas.

Somewhat rational, recently paranoid pregnant lady here... i think I would toss it. I wouldn't be able to get past the possible nest. :hugg

A nest means baby mice, toss it quick.

I just had a thought - if the mouse likes your couch, whatever you replace it with could also fall victim. Talk to your exterminator about it!
