Good games for Wii and Kinect

So while I was out finding deals on Black Friday, I was stoked to find a wii for $99. :clap DH, unbeknownst to me was at the same time online doing his own hunting and found an xbox/kinect combo for under $200. Thinking about thaking one back but not sure right now. So Wii and Kinect owners...So I can do some cost analysis:


Please give me the must have games for either if you wouldn't mind (for us and out 5 yr old):). Thanks!

My boys like racing games mostly. Animal crossing might be one she would like maybe? I hear carnival games are fun, but haven't tried them. Also the wii sports games are fun. :) Haven't tried the kinect, but I hear it's fun too!

We have a Wii and just got the 4gb Xbox 360 with kinect and it's awesome! For the kinect I just bought the girls Nickelodeon dance that has 30 songs they can dance to from Nickelodeon shows. Backyardigans, fresh beat band, and Dora. Those shows are the girls favorites so I think they'll love it. They also love to dance ;)

Kinectimals is cute but we don't have it. Ive heard it's cute for the family. We also have sonic free riders which is pretty awesome. The adventures kinect game that ours was bundled with is good fun too. Our favorite is the rafting game oh and also the fish tank plug game. The kids love that one ALOT! I have a couple snowboarding games but they're not kinect.

For the wii we love Mario kart and new super Mario bros and super Mario galaxy is fun for adults. We also love guitar hero and rock band and played it when the kids go to bed. There's a new one out called DJ Hero which looks good too.

I like both systems and for those prices would keep both of them. The Kinect is amazing since you don't have to use any controllers but the games are more limited. But that will change as time goes on. The wii has tons of games but it just doesn't compare to the more powerful Xbox and ps3 systems. So if the adults are interested in those first person shooter games you need the Xbox!

For the kinect my kids love kinectimals, kinect sports and kinect sports 2, and michael jackson :giggle We can't wait for the Star Wars game to finally release for the kinect!!

We love the kinect here too. We have the Michael Jackson game which we love, the kids love the kinectimals, and they are getting the Disneyland game for it from grandparents too. We downloaded the fruit ninja for it too, and the kids also love that. We had the Dance Central which was fun but we wanted a new game so traded it in, I am debating getting the new one that just came out though. DH loves the xbox for his games, alot more RPG type games for him. We used to have the wii and he just didn't have as much of a selection for the games that he personally likes to play. The wii seemed more party game focused and for the kids. If I could find a wii cheap I would like to get one for the kids since DH is always taking over the xbox......:giggle Oh and I also want to try the zumba for xbox sometime but with the holidays Im not spending much on me......:giggle

We have a Wii and the games the kids like the best are Carnival Games and Toy Story Mania. DD also really enjoyed Wii Play Motion - the game we got for having the Wii Party. DH and I like all of those plus the sports. I think DH is getting the Wii Lego Harry Potter games from my mom for Christmas. Either that or the Family Game Night game. But I haven't played either of them, to be able to give you a review.

and boo, I just saw you can't get the plush animals anymore. I wish I would have known, we had 3 of them (yet no xbox/kinect, how's that for PR/marketing. :giggle)

Thanks ladies! We did some price comparison and decided to keep both, especially since the Wii especially had the PetShops game and DD is Pet Shop fanatical and DH "really wanted the Kinect". I found Kinect Sports, Kinectimals and and Nickelodeon Dance, and Wii Pet shops on Amazon for good deals and Star Wars Wii Lego and carnival games for $5 on Black Friday so think we are set. I really wanted Dance 3 but then I saw the new Black Eyed Peas Dance game:) I'll wait until that goes on sale.

Katrina, DH is really into the RPG games. I found him this game Oblivion for the Xbox because he is the only one who will play that thing. What does your DH like?
