My first born/new born had a flat spot on her head from not moving her head and I was a paranoid first time mom and I went google crazy. Before signing her up for a flight to get hemolded for a corrective helmet or some such nonsense, I decided to post on this board I had just joined. Another time at one of our first "play dates", my first (then 15 months old)threw a raving tantrum in a store at the Cherry Creek Mall. I was mortified and apologizing to my COMom companion that I had just met IRL, "I am so sorry, I think she needs a nap!" She looked me in the eye, gripped my shoulders, and said, "Please please don't ever ever feel the need to apologize to me or any one of us on this board for being a real mom!" I became a die hard COMoms fan after this. The last scene I will never forget was getting a IRL boobie peep comparison show of what happens after breast reduction, breast enlargement, nursing several kids at a COMoms night out! LOL!!!!

1: Well, I joined originally when the board was brand new and Kat ran it...I didn't even have kids - just wanted them. Then I quickly realized it was strange to be on a Mom board when I didn't have kids. I rejoined sometime in 2007 I think, I can't really remember.

1: When did you join Coloradomoms? Back when the very first original one was created. It was in 2003/2004 I think. I was like member 4 or 5 to join. I think it was Kat(e) - the creator of the site, Melissa from boulder (no longer here), Heather, Me, than Remy to join. LOL I think Whipper was up there with us in the very beginning too iirc. :yes
2: How did you find the site? I found it from a craigslist ad posted by Heather in their first attempt to get members.
3: Have you made real life friends here, beyond casual playdate type stuff? yes. As said above, many of the people most special to me, were met here on this board or through my connections here. :adore
4: Do you have a super fun (or serious) Coloradomoms story or memory? ColoradoMoms has seen many of our members through so many important times in our lives. Many of my most treasured memories of CoMoms are times our members have have been through the most difficult times in their lives and the members here have pulled together too help that person through. Near death experiences, Cancer, Deaths, marriages, divorce, and babies! First days of school, First steps, First birthdays, deployment, diagnosis, graduations, and everything in between! oh so many more experiences. So many stories have been shared here and bonded us together in ways I don't think any of us thought could happen when we originally thought to stick our head in and become a member. :adore

1. I joined in 2006 - when I was on maternity leave after I had my first baby I was looking for other moms (none of my friends IRL had babies yet)

4. I have always gotten the best advice and real opinions on every question I post - you ladies are the best!

1: I was one of the originals... I think in the first 15 members or so.
2: I'm pretty sure it was on craigslist. I was a member of another mom group that wasn't doing it for me, so I was looking for other options.
3: I've met my very best friends here!
4: My current favorite memory is the now gone thread we had going when I was in labor with Brody. Mark was dead tired from working a 14 hour shift and only coming home because we were pretty sure I was in labor, so he slept in a chair in the corner. I was wired and epiduraled so I chatted with the mommas on the board. My favorite part was the "where the hell is Whipper??" post, time stamped the very minute Brody was born. :lol Sorry! I was otherwise occupied.
