I usually have no problems with gift ideas for DD, but this year I am struggling. I really need to find her a big Santa gift and nothing is coming to mind. Help! Any gift ideas for a 5 year old? She is interested in pretty much everything. She is girly, but has no problem playing with the boys either. Help? Taking big and little gift suggestions.
On the flip side, I can't stop thinking of things to get DS! I have to hold back or the kid won't have any space in his room!
Also does anyone have a balance bike for their little one? Did they like it? Thinking of getting DS one...

Highly recommend the balance bike! K loved it and did great with it, learned balance well and when he was finally ready for no training wheels we didn't even hold the bike and he took off pedaling no problem.
Zilla, on the other hand, refuses the balance bike because he sees K pedaling and wants to do the same thing. So, if that is how your DS is....get a pedal bike. :) If not, I think the balance bike is a great first intro to the bike!
Other gift ideas, I don't have a girl. BUT K is all over beyblades right now. If she would like something like that, I highly recommend them. Keep my kids entertained for HOURS. I'll have to think about other ideas but that is standing out in my mind right now.

My 5 year old got a bike from Santa last year and this year (turning 6 3 days before xmas) she is asking Santa for a razor scooter. I think we are getting her an American Girl doll (Kit I think...) for her bday and the rest of her bday/xmas list is art supplies, chapter books (Magic Tree House, Ramona, etc). Still looking for stocking stuffer ideas...

Ally loves her scooter so I don't think you can go wrong with it. Hayden wants to upgrade to the Razor Spark scooter this year for christmas so if you think she'll like that you may just want to get her that one. May be a boy thing though because Ally doesn't seem to care. Ally hasn't mentioned what she wants yet but I have a whole list from Hayden. He started to really get into Legos at 5 and is still very obsessed with them.
At 5 we also got Hayden those nature kits so he could see things grow and change. Both kids are very into it and we've had some critter or another in the house since march. We first did the earthworms, then butterflies, and most recently tadpoles. Thats always a very good gift for kids and one that Calder will get into also. Just know that you'll be caring for it ;)
You can also help her raise plants in a small terrarium. I know I've seen a fairy plant terrarium that she may really enjoy. I'll post more as I come up with ideas!

Oh another great gift is the Rody for Calder! They will both love it. We have Teddy and the kids rode on Rody and love him too. It's a great toy!
