Brandall - you got me thinking about this and while my daughter is pretty well covered I am at a loss about our little guy...

What are you all getting for kids this age? We have too many toys and all the big stuff is already in our playroom (Boo was the first grandchild and a little spoiled - already have a kitchen, train table, trike, etc....)

Any ideas would help!
Thanks

My Chewy is a hard one to buy for. In addition to getting sent toys to review all the time, he also has 2 older brothers so we're set. I have no idea what to get ANY of the kids this year for Christmas. I was thinking of doing a trip, but DH wants them to open a bunch of stuff that day. They are already so spoiled, I don't know what to do.

Some things we are looking at getting DS: A balance bike, Geotrax (there is a nice Cars themed one at Costco, more pieces to his wooden train set (if you don't have one of these, I recommend it - he plays with them a lot. We just got the cheap tracks from Imaginarium and will supplement with IKEA tracks, but you can buy wooden Chuggington Trains, Cars themed Cars and Thomas wood trains that all fit on the tracks).

Does he have a Design and Drill set http://www.amazon.com/Educational-Insights-Design-Drill-Take-Along/dp/B003DKKKTK DS got this one for his birthday and even though it is for 3 and up, he figured it out in about 2 minutes and plays with it a lot.

Weeble Treehouse. This was a Christmas gift last year and it was the biggest hit in our house. Both my 5 and 2 year old still play with it. He received this little press and go Caterpillar truck for his birthday and he is playing with it as I type this http://www.target.com/p/Caterpillar-Press-and-Go-Machines/-/A-13594493

We found this pretend cell phone at Target last year and he still plays with it http://www.amazon.com/Caterpillar-Talkin%2592-Truck-Cell-Phone/dp/B0027I7ZAG/ref=sr_1_47?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1320248065&sr=1-47

He got this bucket of Viking vehicles last year for Christmas from my mom, but just started playing with them in the last month. He went to bed with the airplanes the other day :giggle http://www.target.com/p/Viking-Toy-15-pc-Chubbies-Bucket/-/A-10278313

We are thinking of getting him this ball popper thing http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tomy-Pic-N-Pop/16880245?sourceid=1500000000000003260420&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=16880245 It says for 18 months and up, but I think at 2+ he will still love shooting balls and picking them up!

Also a Rody is a good idea http://www.rodytoy.com/

He is just getting into wooden puzzles, likes stringing beads and lacing cards, enjoys his sister's cat keyboard (the B brand which used to be Parents), Love his lollipop drum http://www.amazon.com/Remo-Kids-Percussion-Lollipop-Drum/dp/B00000IRQ9

They also have a new play doh machine (I saw it at Target, but can't find it online) where you push a wheel down with two hands to make play doh sprout up. Seems like it might be more successful than the other machines, which I don't think he is ready for yet.

Basketball hoop...DS loves his.

See, so many ideas for the 2 year old. Not so much for my 5 year old :( Sorry for the weird formatting. I was just free typing :giggle

Oh and DS wants ANYTHING that has a hammer. I considered getting him a small wooden construction type set, or peg set that you hammer in, but I see what he does with the things he pretends are hammers and I don't need broken windows and divets in my furniture or floors :giggle But he would enjoy it :)
