Help me shop for boots

So, I don't have any snow boots. I have lived in Colorado for 9 years and no boots! BUT now, I have to walk DD part way to school everyday and the tennis shoes aren't cutting it. Since my feet aren't going to grow any more (done having babies) and I plan on keeping these for awhile I don't mind spending too much...but would prefer to keep it under $140.

I am challenged when it comes to shopping. I really need to be on What Not To Wear. So please help me find a cute pair of boots :)

hahaha, I didn't see this, but I just posted on winter boots. Nordstroms half yearly is on right now. The uggs I posted are 159, I think.

I am so not the person to ask. I'm a total boot whore, and I have so many pairs of boots! But none are really appropriate for slogging in the snow. I have a beat up leaky pair of Skechers for that,a nd they really aren't cutting it. :lol

Sorels are very good. I've had mine for 5 years now and they still seem new! I got some Uggs last year and love those too. I feel I have to be more careful in the Uggs because you can't really soak them because then you'll have cold wet feet. The Sorels are great for everything lik walking, sledding etc. And are very warm so a better all purpose shoe. Sean bought a pair last year because he was jealous of mine ;)
