Kickboard Scooters are going to make a big splash this spring. They are already making a HUGE splash with my boys. We received a Mini, Maxi and a regular ol’ 2 wheel scooter from Kickboard USA. I was especially excited as it was supposed to start warming up here in Colorado and we had a couple days of 60 degree weather on the horizon. Nothing like letting the boys run off their energy outside instead of with a face in some sort of video game.
Brady was the first to test his out. The Mini Kick is for ages 2-5 and has 3 wheels instead of 2. The size was perfect for him. While he was a bit nervous at first, he’s now warming up to the idea of at least standing on it while I pull him around the house. Brady certainly isn’t ready to start using it on his own, but I can’t wait to try this in our therapy sessions to see if it will help with his sense of balance and help strengthen his legs up a bit. Thank goodness for having hardwood floors and a fairly open floor plan in our house. The cost of this scooter is $85.
Carter was next and tested out the Maxi Kick. This is geared for ages 5-11 and also boasts the 3 wheel design. What I love the most about this scooter is, instead of turning the handles and the wheels turn with it, the child simply leans into the direction they want to go, pushing the handles to the right or left side and the entire scooter shifts that direction. It’s hard to get a hairpin turn (like what’s needed to get into our kitchen from the other rooms) but it really is a smooth and safer way for the kids to manuever the scooter. His was the most expensive, valued at $135.
Carter rides this thing Every. Single. Day. No joke. He even had me make a video of him riding around our downstairs. Check it out!

Thomas decided to actually use his scooter outside (Thank Heavens!) and said he liked how smooth the ride was and how easy it was to brake and do tricks. It was a bit unstable at first and took some time getting used to, but after just a few turns, he really got the feel for it. This model is the “Sprite” scooter and is for ages, “9 to 99.” The price of this model is $99.00. While the price of these may seem a bit high, I truly feel they are worth the price. The construction, durability and design are really top quality.
My kids have been using them for about 3 weeks now and still beg to use them every day. They go in the grass, on pavement, wood floors, rocks, asphalt, you name it. The scooters have held up to it all and when they used them indoors on our wood flooring, they didn’t leave one mark.
Now for the fun part. You can enter to win a SET of scooters! Kickboard USA has graciously allowed us to giveaway both a Mini AND Maxi scooter! This prize is valued at over $200!!

I love that they offer all different sizes for the whole family instead of just one size. I have an 11 year old and a 4 year old, so I do appreciate this. She struggles sometimes to play with his toys and he wouldn’t be caught dead on hers
Thanks.

I follow kickboard usa on twitter @aahaft
I really like how lightweight the mini kick is making it easy for even my youngest children to handle. The weight shift to turn makes it easier and prevents tipping and the 2 wheels in front instead of in the back like other beginner scooters prevents my kids from tripping over the wheels when scooting. The mini and maxi kick are the best scooters on the market
