With the fires, the recent ban on fireworks and many displays around the Front Range canceling their shows, you may be left wondering how you can still enjoy the Fourth of July with your family.
Never fear! ColoradoMoms to the rescue!
A few of you may know that I write for SavvySource.com for Denver events. I recently published an article on 5 different family events going on that don’t need giant explosions to have some good old fashioned family fun!
One of our top picks is the Fourth Fest Family Fun Zone
City of Commerce City and the Colorado Rapids team up to bring you a day of FREE, fun-filled family activities followed by the largest fireworks show in Colorado. Come out to Fourth Fest and enjoy live music, fly on the zip line, ride the mechanical bull, conquer the climbing wall, watch the tractor pull, play frisbee golf, get your face painted, and jump on the Rapids Soccer Inflatables.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Park
6000 Victory Way
Commerce City, CO 80022
Some other ways to have fun is to make your own glowing items! Steve Spangler Science has some great ideas on their blog!
Our top pic from their projects is, of course, the messiest one! Red, White and Blue Geysers!
Do you have any fun tips for a fireworks free fourth? Leave a comment and share your ideas!
