Weekend Events for June 23-24th


This weekend is supposed to be hot hot hot! Be sure to drink up lots of water and keep cool! Here are some ideas to help pull you off the couch and get you active while still staying cool and having fun!

This summer, the Children’s Museum of Denver will provide young children with an opportunity to explore the wonder of water. Just Add will fill 1,900 square feet of outdoor space with geysers, whirlpools, vortices, pumps, channels, fountains, spigots and spouts.

The exhibit will have four components: The Blank Slate Gallery, The Geysers, Whirlpools & Fountains and Water Works. Each will present a different chance to develop and enhance children’s understanding of the physical science concepts of volume, weight, pressure, force, buoyancy, density, trajectory, displacement and states of matter. They will be encouraged to make decisions, formulate and test hypotheses, and engage problem-solving skills in this hands-on water laboratory.

RAINFOREST ADVENTURE-Saturday, June 21st-Sept. 3rd at The Wildlife Experience

Rainforest Adventure is a multisensory expedition that introduces visitors to tropical rainforests around the world, highlights the challenges facing these unique ecological wonders and suggests ways that people can make a difference. Test your rainforest knowledge in the 2,500 sq. ft. human size maze!  Incorrect answers lead to dead-ends while correct answers lead them deeper into the four layers of the rainforest: emergent, canopy, understory and forest floor.

NWF GREAT AMERICAN BACKYARD CAMPOUT-Saturday, June 23rd Location of your choice!

Join us for Great American Backyard Campoutin your backyard, a park, campground or even your balcony. By registering, you’ll have the opportunity to raise money for programs help connect kids to the great outdoors plus you can become eligible for Great American Backyard Campout t-shirts and more!

Keep yourself cool by camping near a lake, turn on the sprinklers in the backyard, fill up the pool and have a water fight!
