Sick Toddlers Make Me Drink Heavily

#

Well, it’s not like I can’t come up with any excuse to have a glass of wine, but sick toddlers really make me drink heavily. Chewy has been sick for 4 or 5 days now. Started in the middle of the night a few days ago. Out of the blue. He cried so I went into his dark room and sat on his bed. Big mistake. Yup, I sat in yak. Wonderful.

So after that it pretty much went downhill. I’ll spare all the nitty gritty details, but just know that in the past 48 hours, I think Chewy has screamed and/or cried through over half of them. It’s rough when your kids are sick, even worse when your kid can’t communicate. He had belly pain yesterday but couldn’t tell me what hurt. He could only cry and hold onto to my leg.

After so many days of him being sick, feverish and me cleaning up all the various “messes” I’ve gone through a bottle of wine, maybe two. Okay, definitely two bottles. Maybe three. No, it’s only two… I think.

How do you handle sick kids? Any tips or tricks that have helped?

The Devil Binky says it all today…
