Cheating and using words yet again. I should just call this “picture with a bunch of words wednesday!”. Anywho, I bought these candy maker treat thingy’s from Michael’s a couple weeks ago and the boys helped me make treats for all their teachers before they went on winter break. Love these! We paid around $7.50 for a kit that made 5 treats. It came with everything, the candy, the bags, the tags and the cookie cutters. What a great idea! You can do this on your own without the kit as well. I think I’ll have to make some for kids for easter in bunny cookie cutters!

Note: Apparently the “candy maker treat thingies” are by Wilton. They have a ton of candy kits at Michaels and WalMart (that I’ve seen).
disclosure: Neither Wilton, nor Michaels paid me for this, nor did they give me any freebies. If they want to, they are more than welcome, but I’d promote both of them regardless of that.

Howdy! I understand this is somewhat off-topic but I had to ask. Does managing a well-established blog such as yours require a massive amount work? I am completely new to blogging but I do write in my journal daily. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for new aspiring bloggers. Thankyou!

Oh my is that peppermint bark? I love peppermint bark. What a great idea for teacher gifts and they sound like my kind of baking, everything you need included so no worries of forgetting something.

So…how would you make them without the kit? I can’t tell, is it candy or cookie?
I’ll put up a tutorial soon, but it’s just the candy melts. Chocolate candy melts on the bottom, then peppermint on top. You can use whichever melts you like and fill any cookie cutter! Make sure to use wax paper under them so they don’t stick to the cookie sheet or your counter. (Ask me how I know this one. LOL)
Oh that does sound quite simple. I would have never known about the chocolate on the bottom, but, of course, chocolate goes with peppermint
I’ll keep an eye out for your tutorial. I love the idea and would love to make them….next year–LOL.
BTW, I should let you know that I found out about your site by reading The Gazette yesterday. http://www.gazette.com/articles/bloggers-130475-mommy-toy.html
I love reading blogs from folks in my own state!
An excellent idea – of course, anything that results in a cookie can’t be bad.
