Party City Costumes – Shiver Me Timbers!
With the new Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides, movie coming out in 10 days (not that I’m counting down or anything! May 20th) our house is in full Pirate swing! I’ve even changed my facebook language to English (Pirate)! Shiver Me Timbers Mateys! Well Party City must have known the boys and I were having a Pirates Trilogy Party because they sent me some amazing pirate themed costumes for the boys!
The boys and I decided to get all dressed up. Chewy was Captain Hook (but later became Hugh Hefner, don’t ask) Cartman was a Swashbuckler and Thomas was a smarmy pirate! Cartman’s costume was amazing! The details on it were so cool! Great stitching and really well made. He wore my boots since “fancy pirates wear fancy boots”. 😉 It’s true.
Thomas didn’t want his picture up on the blog. So we blindfolded him and set him of to a dual to the death with his brother. If Cartman won, the pic went up. Wanna know who won? Yeah, check out the picture below. 😉
Chewy’s costume was a couple sizes to big for my little peanut but he loved it! He ended up with just the robe and grabbed a bubble pipe and looked like he was ready for his playmates! I’m in real trouble with this one!
All in all the kids had a blast! The costumes were great and the kids are excited to wear them again! I told them we should all dress up when we go to the movies but they said I’m “lame”. Whatever. I’ll have you know I’m very much NOT lame. I’m the opposite of lame. So there! (yes, I’m arguing with my kids and may or may not have stuck out my tongue at them).
Here are the pics from our Pirate Night!
ABOUT THE MOVIE: Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” captures the fun, excitement and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in this action-packed adventure that finds him crossing paths (and swords) with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz). When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth. Along the way Jack must use all his wiles to deal with the barbarous Blackbeard and his crew of zombies, Angelica, the ravishing pirate with whom he shares a dubious past, and the beautiful, enchanting mermaids whose masterful cunning can lure even the most seasoned sailor to his doom. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the indestructible Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.
Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is presented in Disney Digital 3D™, with screen story and screenplay by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, based on characters created by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio and Stuart Beattie and Jay Wolpert, and suggested by the novel by Tim Powers.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” is rated PG-13 and opens in theatres on May 20, 2011. For more information on the film, please visit www.disney.com/pirates
