Whenever my boys bring home those Scholastic Book order sheets, I go a little nuts. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered books from these sheets after the boys have circled all the ones they want. Actually, I can. As many times as they have brought them home. Let’s see… Thomas is in 7th grade, so about 8 or 9 years of ordering. Like I said, obsessed.

My middle boy is 7 and just got moved up to chapter books like Magic Treehouse in 1st grade. The BOB Books were a big help in his early  love for reading. They have 4 levels, First Reader, Beginning Reader, Developing Reader and Growing Reader.

Another thing they show you on the book, which I LOVE, is a Grade Level, Guided Reading Level and Word Count. They also explain what each level is and why it’s appropriate.

As Lavar Burton would say, “You don’t have to take my word for it” (Wait, I totally miss Reading Rainbow!  Take a look, it’s in a book… Okay, totally off track now)

Here are some bloggers who also love the BOB Books. So much so, they wrote a post about it. 😉

Melissa Taylor (ImaginationSoup.com) is an amazing blogger who knows a TON about books and education. She wrote a couple posts:

Emily is a mom to three very active boys. Her youngest is autistic so she is passionate about advocating for children and families on the spectrum. She attends more concerts than is humanly possible and takes some pretty amazingly blurry photos of said shows to prove she was there. Also, #hashtags are her favorite. #totes #noreally
