Summer in Denver with Kids: A to Z

Denver is a hotspot for activities for kids. With some of the best zoos and museums in the Southwest, it’s a great place to visit and an even better place to live. This summer, why not try our A to Z kid’s fun list! See how many locations and letters you can cross off! 

A – The Denver Downtown Aquarium is home to many animals besides fish. Sharks, octopi, tigers, oh my!

B – The Butterfly Pavilion is the place to be if your kids love things that fly. They have other bugs, insects, and spiders as well. 

C – Children’s Museum of Denver is a great place for the kids to play while sneaking in some education. 

D – Do your kids love dinosaurs? Dinosaur Ridge in Golden has preserved footprints from millions of years ago.

E – Elitch Gardens is always fun in the summer. Games, rides, and roller-coasters. Who could ask for anything more?

F – The Firefighter’s Museum is one every child will love. With gear, trucks and more, you are sure to have fun.

G – Golden, Colorado is home to the Railroad Museum. The perfect place for your budding train conductor.

H – Hammond’s Candies provides you a unique experience! Watch candy being made on their free tour.

I  – IMAX movies are ones kids of all ages enjoy. Check out what’s playing at the IMAX at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

J – JumpStreet is one way to tire out the kids. With indoor trampolines to jump jump jump the summer away!

K – Kids will love a trip to Bear Creek Lake park in Lakewood, Colorado. With trails, campsites and a lake, they are sure to have a day filled with outdoor fun!

L – Lakeside Amusement Park has been a part of family traditions in Denver for years. Why not take the kids and make new memories here?

M – The Morrison Natural History Museum lets your kids become paleontologists. Dig for fossils and see Colorado’s native reptiles and amphibians.

N – Denver Museum of Nature & Science always pleases the kids young and old! Dinosaurs, Space exhibits and even an interactive place for the youngest of kids.

O – Olde Town Arvada has something for everyone. Shopping, trains, restaurants and more!

P – Pirate’s Cove is the place to cool down during the hot summer. With slides, a lazy river, and a giant bucket to splash you, your whole family will have a blast here.

Q – Quench your thirst for adventure with SkyVenture Colorado! Denver’s only indoor skydiving attraction. (Yeah, that was a stretch… but Q is hard!)

R – Let’s Go Rockies! Catch a game at Coors Field, and don’t forget to buy a Rocky Dog while you are there.

S – Sloan’s Lake is Denver’s hidden oasis of water and greenery within the hustle and bustle of the city. 

T – Tiny Town is exactly what it sounds like. A tiny town! They even have a tiny railroad to take you around.

U – Learn how money is made at the United States Mint in downtown Denver.

V – Your budding valedictorian will love to learn at the University of Colorado Museum! (Another stretch, but trust us, it’s Very fun!)

W – Water World is another fun place for the summer. Try taking their gondola to get a good lay of the land before choosing your water slide! 

X – Xtreme Altitude is a great place for gymnastics north of Denver. Broomfield’s best parent and tot trampolines!

Y – YMCA Day Camps provide a safe and fun experience for your child!

Z – Of course we can’t make a list like this without mentioning the Denver ZOO! Come visit your favorite animals year round!
