This time of year I get such an itch to craft and create, thanks to all the beautiful and adorable ideas on Pinterest, but let’s face it, all those craft supplies can cost a mint. Add that to gifts for three kiddos, and my crafty mood can turn a little grinchy. Not to mention I […]
Years and years ago, I used to sell Close to My Heart scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies. There were so many workshops I’d run for friends on how to mass produce cards and scrapbook pages and make some cute smaller projects like mini photo albums and more. I recently stumbled on my old patterns and […]
I love getting all crafty. Recently, I was going through a tub in my basement marked “#CraftyCrap” (natch) and found this mini photo album I made waaaaaay back when I used to be a Close to my Heart consultant. I love it because it is from when Carter (now 8 years old) was first born. […]
The iPhoodie. Hoodie for your iPhone. It’s getting to be fall so don’t you think your iPhone deserves to be cozy? (If this looks familiar to you die hard knitters… I have had the pattern on Ravelry for a while now.) I’ve had this pattern on Ravelry for almost 2 years. It’s received 3,000+ “likes” […]
Or maybe I should title this, how NOT to do it. I loved this pattern by Alan Dart Devilish Dragon. He does look quite intimidating. Not just his scary eyes, but the fact there are over 40 pieces to knit and sew, as well as this dragon standing nearly 18 inches tall. Oiy! But my […]
I’ve been knitting and crocheting up a storm. To check out all my recent projects, follow me on Craftsy! This week I’ve written up a pattern to my favorite phone case. It’s a simple crochet phone case that you can modify to fit any phone. Add a decorative button or a crochet flower to give […]
If you are like me, you wait until the last possible minute to think of something fun to make for family and friends. I can’t very well start a blanket that will take me a month to knit with just weeks to go before the Holidays. I’ve got to think smaller. Here are 5 […]
I’m bi-crafty. I knit. I crochet. Some knitters can’t crochet and some crocheters can’t knit, but I love both and highly suggest learning one if you do the other! Case in point… Knitting a hat takes me days. Maybe even weeks if I get bored or the kids keep bugging me, but crocheting a hat… […]
I’ve been knitting again. It’s super therapeutic for me. Watch some cheesy chick flick while knitting. Makes my stress melt away. My best friend Kate and I went to Fort Collins recently to visit The Loopy Ewe and My Sister Knits. The first is yarn heaven as it has aisles and aisles of super yummy, soft, gorgeous […]
I’m all about instant gratification. These super quick crocheted projects are just that! Each took just an afternoon to make, the salamander bookmark actually took less than an episode of Jerseylicious! All 3 of these can be found on Lion Brand’s website. These are free patterns and all you have to do is sign up for their […]
Brady’s room has been all about dinosaurs since he was born. We have a jumbo dino rocking chair, a huge animatronic triceratops, pillows, stuffed animals, wall stickers and more. He had an adorable quilt from Pottery Barn Kids in his crib, but he’s outgrown that. It was a little too “newborn” and I wanted a quilt that could last him through to a twin bed. What’s a crafty mom to do? Well, make a quilt I guess.

Are you on there? Do you love it?! Do you need an invite? I’m a tad obsessed! Here is my profile if you want to follow. http://pinterest.com/coloradomoms/ I have a couple of funny ones, well funny to me anyway. Like my “Amen” Board where I post things like, well, you just have to see them to […]
