Using the tried and true glue/borax/water recipe, we had mad the perfect therapy slime! We could bury small objects in it, Chewy would use his fine motor skills to take them out. The slime was cold and a strange texture, so his sensory issues could be addressed at the same time, not to mention, this slime has no mess! It comes off clean nearly everything it touches (not carpet and some knit clothing, so still be careful around those!).

We Love LEGO®! It’s no surprise to anyone that knows us. We’ve been to LEGOLAND in California, many many LEGO® stores and spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours constructing. We are even making brick and minifigure crayons for Valentine’s this year. My boys also love watching The Official LEGO® Channel on youtube and creating their [...]
In light of the tragedy in Newtown, CT I have been trying to figure out what is the best thing to do here on this site. I don’t feel it’s appropriate to talk about security, gun laws, mental illness and media coverage here. We’ve done that in the past and it just doesn’t seem to [...]
We test a lot of products. High tech iPad apps, no tech wooden blocks and everything in between. I was excited to test out the Vinci Touch Creen Mobile Learning System. We received the 7″ tablet with wifi (on sale for $169) and right out of the box I was impressed. a decent sized screen, [...]
Who doesn’t love Angry Birds?! I’m pretty sure just about everyone has played the addictive game, or at least heard of it. My kids are a bit obsessed. We have the game on our iphones, ipods, ipads, droids and laptops. We have Angry Birds shirts, stuffed animals and card games. Last week, I took our obsession one step further and made an Angry Birds Hat.

My dad was a chef. Not by trade, but as long as he was alive, he was in the kitchen making amazing meals. His chili and meat sauces were the BEST! After he passed away, I inherited all of his recipes and my grandma’s. I’ve perfected the meat sauce and am ready to share it [...]
I love knitting. It really calms me down when the kids are driving me crazy or I’m stressed out about writing or deadlines. I knit all sorts of things, coffee sleeves, iPhone sweaters, little stuffed animals for the kids. I’ve even knit Godzilla and Mothra.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Maria Bailey on a few occasions. She is one of the most genuine and truly talented business women of our time. She knows what women need/want, how to market them, how to balance the work/family life and on top of all that, still takes time to smile, chat and [...]
It should be no surprise that we are HUGE fans of Chuck and Friends by Tonka. I’ve been known to have my mom go to multiple stores just to find one medium sized Chuck school bus. Not that I’m obsessed or anything. I mean, Brady. Brady is obsessed, yes the 3 yr old. Sounds much [...]

When traveling with kids, how do you find the best hotel for kids? Do you pick one based on price? Location? Amenities? All of the above? I travel fairly frequently with and without the boys. I used to just pick whichever hotel was the cheapest. We’d have the boys in one bed and my husband [...]
When I was a kid, I loved to be in the kitchen. I would constantly mix random ingredients, hoping it would turn into something amazing. When I was 9 I honestly and truly thought I’d invented the worlds best thing. Flour, Eggs, Milk, sugar. mix and put in a pan to cook. Yes, I had [...]
