I’ve been on a personal journey to lose 15 pounds. The Freshman 15 came and went, the “honeymoon is over” 15 did the same. The 15 lbs after the first kid came off easy, a little less easy for the 15 after the 2nd child. Now the third is turning 5 next week and I [...]
Papa Knitschmidt has quite the sweet tooth and likes to bake. He has made some amazingly yummy treats! When Chalupa Boy was a baby I worked for Papa for a while. There was always some kind of mini candy bar or chocolate nugget of one variety or another in the jar on his desk. But my favorite days were the ones when Papa had been baking and there was something wrapped up waiting for me.
PopChips, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways… 1. You are the only chip my son with multiple food allergies and GI issues can eat without having a screaming fit at night and bad diapers the next day. For this you are ROCKSTARS in my book! 2. Although I’m sure I’m off [...]
Our son’s nutritionist wants him to eat hummus (needs more protein), only most of the store bought ones have ingredients he can’t have in them. I found this recipe online and want to give it a try. Think I need a vitamix to make this or will a regular food processor work just as well? [...]
It’s true! It’s also one of their products. LOL The perfectly named Happy Family product line just introduced something I cannot live without. Gluten Free Puffs! They have no Soy, Dairy, Corn or Gluten. Thank you Thank you! Since Chewy is allergic to 3 outta those 4, finally there is a puff/snack for him on [...]
I was given a Baby Dipper set to review and let me start by saying this product is not life changing, but definitely meal changing! What I noticed first is the slanted design of the bowl. This allows for you to get every last drop without having to tilt the bowl and scrape the food [...]
Do you ever open your fridge or cupboards and wonder, “What am I going to feed my child today………..?” If you do, you are not alone! I am a pediatric Occupational Therapist and work with several children on their feeding skills. One of the most common problems that young children face with their eating is [...]
I love edamame! My boys actually like it too (well except the baby who is allergic to soy). I was searching for a good edamame salad recipe and couldn’t find one I like, so I was experimenting and came up with this one. I hope you love it! Recipe: Edamame Salad Ingredients 2 tablespoons sesame [...]
My kids go bananas for mac-n-cheese and I feel better making it from scratch so I know what they are getting nutrition wise. Here is our favorite Mac & Cheese recipe! Recipe: Comfort Food – Mac & Cheese Ingredients 1 (8 ounce) package elbow macaroni 1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 1 (12 [...]
My youngest is allergic to everything. I mean EVERYTHING! Milk, Soy, Gluten, Nuts, Citric Acid, Squash, just to name a few. Feeding him is hard these days, but getting easier as more products that are allergy friendly come into the market. I still find myself making the majority of his foods from scratch and often [...]
