I was nervous. I love Disney movies, love John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and of course my Gleek Jane Lynch. But… I was worried I wouldn’t like this movie. I don’t know why. Maybe it was so hyped up that it wouldn’t live up to that hype? Maybe I was worried that I couldn’t [...]
Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” dives back into theaters and homes this year in breathtaking Digital 3D™. The must-“sea,” must-own Oscar®-winning underwater adventure—featuring the unforgettable Marlin, his forgetful friend Dory and the lovable young Nemo—returns to the big screen in a spectacular 3D theatrical release beginning September 14, 2012, and then swims into living rooms for the [...]
ParaNorman is the latest movie from Focus Features, the ones behind the cult hit Coraline. It hit theaters last week and is sure to be a hit! Can you speak with the dead? Do you have more ghostly friends than the warm blooded kind? You have a LOT in common with Norman Babcock. Norman has [...]
This movie needs to be in theaters ASAP. Really. The trailer is NSFW (probably, well, maybe? I love it and have watched it 15 time just this morning, so I’ve been desensitized to it’s contents, but maybe wait until there aren’t kids around at least. Your co-workers will crack the heck up though so maybe [...]
There is one suspect in custody after 12 people were shot and killed at the Century 16 Movie Theaters at the Aurora Town Center. There were at least 50 people injured. The youngest of those injured is 3 months old. Early reports say this is the second highest mass casualty shooting by a single gunman [...]
Once again I am back from the movies. This time was The Dark Knight Rises, the latest in the Batman series. Now I have to warn you, I was not a fan of this newest line of Batman movies. Batman Begins, meh. Yeah, we get it. Billionaire with a chip on his shoulder tries to [...]
Well today is the big day! The day many Marvel fans and fanatics have been waiting for. The Amazing Spider-Man opened nationwide. I got a chance to see it last night in IMAX 3D and was thoroughly entertained. Amazing special effects I’d put akin to The Avengers movie that was released earlier in the year. That said, [...]
I got to go the a prescreening here in Denver Wednesday night for The Avengers. All I can say is, WOW! I’m not a Marvel fanatic, but have seen quite a few movies and have my favorites (hey, Iron Man… How you doin’? *wink wink*). What I love about this movie (besides the fact that I saw it in IMAX 3D) was that you don’t have to be a true fan to love the movie. Alternatively, if you are a fanatic, you will love it even more! A hint to anyone seeing it, stay until the credits are finished. It will give you a big clue to the sequel.
Note to parents: This movie, while loud with a few intimidating characters and a couple scenes that make you jump, was very kid friendly. If your child loves superhero movies, this is perfect. There wasn’t any bad language that I noticed and no sexy scenes or half-nekkid women (sorry guys!). It’s PG-13, but I think it’s perfectly fine for kids 8 and up.
So, now besides doing a regular review, giving away the plot and boring you with press releases, I racked my brain at how to cover this movie. Since I have already been to Disney and now back home, why not continue my Fashion Friday posts. I took 3 characters from the movie, Captain America, Hulk and Black Widow and made 3 separate looks that were inspired by these characters. Let me know what you think!

There are five lessons every kid should learn in life. Unfortunately, many kids either don’t learn them until later in life, or at all. 1. Nothing in life is free. I don’t know how many times my kids want to go to McD’s or BK for the “free” toy. Um, no, that toy is $3.99 [...]
The kids and I got to see an advanced screening of Despicable Me this morning. Holy Crap that was a cute movie! No gore, no sware words and only one naked butt (a cute funny one!) in the whole movie. A nice change from some of the movies targeted to kids these days! We saw [...]
