If you have ever been to my house, you know there is marker, sharpie, crayon, ink pen and even glitter on my walls. I have no idea why little ones think it's necessary to draw a mural on a nice clean wall, but for some reason all three of my boys have. I stopped painting over them long ago. I just couldn't keep up! Thank goodness the makers of BlankZ contacted me to see if I'd be interested in reviewing their toys. Yes!!! Finally something my kids can color on besides my walls. ;)

Kids love tablets. iPads, kindles, and more. These devices are expensive and delicate. It’s hard to let kids play with them when you’ve shelled out so much cash for one screen. VTech has the solution, the Innotab. $80 for a tablet for kids is a lot easier to swallow than the $300+ other, more grown up tablets cost. Plus, the Innotab is designed with kids and learning in mind. With built in ereader, games and more, kids have everything they need in one place....

When I received the Huggtopus Kimochi in the mail, Chewy instantly grabbed him from me and ran around hugging him. He loves to take the little “feelings” and feed him. He thinks it’s hysterical that he can take them out and put them back in over and over! While he is still a bit young to understand the idea of feelings, this will give us the perfect platform to work on them. With Autism, sometimes it’s hard for the kids to understand what happy and sad are exactly and how to properly express them. Frustration, anxiety, hurt are all even...
“It will be great. We can make these tiny rubbery figures. The size of a lima bean, or maybe we should go a bit bigger… Just big enough to get lodged in a toddlers throat. Even better, let’s put these tiny things in a plastic ball that is perfect for cutting off the airway completely! How about we now make those things so cute and adorable and in little animal shapes. You guys with me!?” That is how I imagine the planning discussion went on Squinkies. Yup, one of the “it” toys from this past Christmas is now the bane...

It’s fall and getting chilly. I love this weather, partly because I love rockin’ the sweaters and Uggs, and partly because I tend to knit a ton more in the fall than any other time of year. I already made Chewy’s fish hat, started a JAWS hat for T, made a couple of winter headbands for myself and now moving onto toys. Sheldon is a turtle a few of us are knitting for a KAL (knit-a-long) for our weekly coffee night meetups. Some have finished one already, some (like me) didn’t start until this weekend. I got quite a bit...
