Kickboard Scooters are going to make a big splash this spring. They are already making a HUGE splash with my boys. We received a Mini, Maxi and a regular ol’ 2 wheel scooter from Kickboard USA. I was especially excited as it was supposed to start warming up here in Colorado and we had a couple days of 60 degree weather on the horizon. Nothing like letting the boys run off their energy outside instead of with a face in some sort of video game.

Dinner time, the most hated time of day for me. I never seem to know what to make. I need something that will appeal to five different people. The Picky Eater (my 7 yr old), The Pseudo-Vegetarian (my 12 yr old), The Allergic-to-Everything (my 3 yr old) and then my husband and I. I’ve tried the meal prep places like Dream Dinners and they were great for a while, but the hubby thought they were too bland and I couldn’t find time to go down to the store for 3 hours to prep. I also tried recipe apps for my phone and that was okay, but not enough variety. What was I to do?
Nowadays I surf Pinterest for great food ideas and also FoodNetwork.com. Over time I’ve found blogs that have great ideas and suggestions and I often poll our forums “What’s for Dinner?” Click through to find 5 tips/tricks I’ve found to help alleviate the stress of meal planning.

If you have ever been to my house, you know there is marker, sharpie, crayon, ink pen and even glitter on my walls. I have no idea why little ones think it’s necessary to draw a mural on a nice clean wall, but for some reason all three of my boys have. I stopped painting over them long ago. I just couldn’t keep up! Thank goodness the makers of BlankZ contacted me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing their toys. Yes!!! Finally something my kids can color on besides my walls.

So many times, when it comes up that Brady is Autistic, people say, “I’m so sorry.” I know it’s just a saying and they really don’t know what to say, but YOU didn’t cause it, so why be sorry for it? I’m not sorry he has it. As many people say, “It is what it is.”
In some ways we are lucky, we’ve had two typically developing children and now with Brady and his delays, we also get to stop and enjoy his milestones that with previous kids we didn’t necessarily celebrate. There are many more things we, parents of ASD kids, get to experience than those of other children, here are my top five.

My kids and I love smoothies. I do have to admit, it’s quite the process to get them all together for just a quick smoothie for breakfast or as a treat after dinner. I was buying some pre-made smoothies but the cost was killing my pocketbook. At roughly $3 per smoothie, they were fast becoming an expensive treat.
I found a great tip on Pinterest about freezing yogurt into ice cube trays for toddler portions. Genius! Then my mind started working… All that’s in the pricey smoothie bag is frozen yogurt and fruit. Hmmmm… Then, this morning as I was starving and trying to come up with a way to pack in a ton of fruit while still minding my Weight Watchers PointsPlus® points, this recipe was born.

This is a staple in our house. I often serve with garlic cheddar mashed potatoes and a vegetable and the entire family practically licks their plates clean. One of my kids favorites!

Instead of just telling you how to crochet and pointing you to some books, I’ve made a series of videos that will have you going from just learning what a crochet hook is, to completing a washcloth (or dishcloth as I love to use these in the kitchen). In the future, I’ll have a video on how to make a scarf, cowl, headband and possibly a baby blanket. If there is something you’d love to learn how to make, comment below and I can either find a pattern for you or show you how to make it.

Crochet is the new Knitting. No?! Well, it should be anyway. I love knit items and love to design things with knitting, but crochet is something I can do in my sleep.
I found this super cute washcloth pattern on ravelry years ago. I made a couple but they just sat in my “things I made and are pretty so I just like to look at them” pile. Lately Brady has been breaking out more from the bath and I thought it might be due to the scratchy washcloths. I whipped up these three during the premier of The Bachelor (don’t judge, I know it never works out but it’s soooooo addictive!).
