Recipe: Scrambled Denver Eggs

denver scrambled eggs recipe

Not everyone desires an omelet all the time. Even though they can contain the same fantastic ingredients, scrambled eggs have a different texture than omelets, so there’s no reason not to use the same ingredients you would use to make a Denver omelet. Plus, it makes the ideal brunch dish.

Omelets are not a great brunch dish for a large gathering or celebration. There are far too many people waiting while others eat. And the party isn’t enjoyable for the cook… so turn it into a scramble instead. Just prepare the components beforehand, which will be much simpler and take less time.

The Denver Omelet includes diced bell peppers, onions, diced ham, and occasionally potatoes and/or cheese.

TIPS

My favorite breakfast dish is scrambled Denver eggs, which I offer without potatoes or cheese. Instead, I serve hash browns and cheese sauce separately so my guests may choose whether or not to have them with their other options.

I prepare a large amount, store it in an airtight container, and reheat a little in the microwave for a quick weekday morning. This is also a great way to use leftover ham.

I use bell peppers, red, green, and yellow. They are not just vibrant but also have quite distinct flavors. The yellow and red ones are usually more costly, but they are definitely worth it. Compared to green bell peppers, they have a softer, slightly sweeter flavor.

  • Utilize the green and white portions of the onion.
  • For a beautiful presentation, these can be placed in tortillas, on top of English muffins, or even in pastry shells with cheese sauce.
  • The following amounts are negotiable. As you choose, you can raise or decrease them.
  • Serve with a side of hash browns and garnish with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. It’s really good!

When hosting your next brunch gathering, try these eggs!
